Facebook Upgrades Messenger App

Facebook Messenger App
Facebook launches the desktop version of its Messenger app.

Facebook Inc., is the social media giant that has pretty much dominated the market with its exceptional products and services. Apart from Facebook, the company has several other products that are equally popular amongst the masses. The company has always experimented and has made sure that they offer best possible services to consumers. One of the best products of the company is Facebook Messenger which was initially a mobile app that allowed individuals to communicate with each other.

The company after the success of Facebook Messenger over smartphones has finally decided to launch it for its desktop users. So soon we will see a new look of the Facebook inbox revamped through Messenger.

The social media publicized this news on Wednesday where they said that they would launch a web version of its messaging tool. This will allow users to chat from their browser to a desktop computer similar to how the messenger app functions on smartphones.

The Facebook products will not be associated with the website and can only be accessed through Messenger.com which can be used by users to contact and chat with their friend list on Facebook through any web browser they use.

Users will have to have a valid Facebook account to avail this service since both the products are interlinked.

The question here arises that why Facebook is actually working on its standalone app of Messenger when Facebook itself can be used to serve the same purpose. The answer to this is that, Messenger app will be distinct from Facebook so all those who wish to avoid the hustle bustle of Facebook can actually have an alternate that does not have so many distractions. This will help maintain focus and will not provide other attractions that might deviate the user from his track.

So those who do not wish to have another app for messaging need not worry since Facebook will not completely remove messaging from Facebook. So the inbox will remain as it is but an added application will be provided. The company removed inbox from the Facebook app but for their desktop version they do not plan to continue with the legacy which is apparently good news.

The company at this point in time will launch its services for all users that use the platform in English. However, soon they plan to extend this software tailoring it to cater several other language options.

Hence in a nutshell, the company has provided users with alternatives it is now up to the user what option he prefers.
